The Bucks County Fire Marshal’s Office presents

OPERATION SAFE HOME – FREE – SMOKE DETECTOR PROGRAM

A newly developed SMOKE DETECTOR PROGRAM funded by a FEMA grant that will partner with the Bucks County Health Department’s Safe Kids Coalition to provide low-income family’s FREE ten-year lithium powered smoke detectors. We are seeking those Bucks County Volunteer Fire Company’s and local municipal fire marshals who would like to participate in the program. Our goal: To assure all families residing in private residences who normally can’t afford smoke detectors receive free ten-year lithium powered smoke detectors. Our distribution method: In cooperation with the local Volunteer Fire Companies; firefighters will go door-to-door checking existing smoke alarms for proper operation. And where warranted install new ten-year lithium battery powered units as needed. This is a planned joint effort with these emergency service providers, municipal fire marshals and our County Health department. Together we will target selected low-income areas of our county to inspect and install smoke detectors as needed in an effort to provide proper fire protection to our residents. Additionally, a quick fire safety inspection of these homes will be offered at the time of the visit.

WE NEED TO GENERATE A LIST OF THOSE FIRE COMPANIES and MUNICIPAL FIRE MARSHAL’S INTERESTED IN THE PROGRAM. TO BE a PARTICIPANT SEND YOUR: FIRE COMPANY NAME, CONTACT NAME, CELL PHONE NUMBER and ADDRESS, and include your AREA’S of LOW-INCOME TO: Bucks County Fire Marshal’s Office.
